With a life long interest in politics, Dan's first job out of college was on the National Staff of a U.S. Presidential Campaign. Later in his career, he was a fundraiser for the U.S. Senatorial Campaign of Joel Hyatt in Ohio .
Involved with his community, he is an Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 62, Longhorn Council for the Boy Scouts of America. He was also the Committee Chair for Pack 1, Longhorn Council Cub Scouts of America.
Dan has been an Upward Bound Basketball Coach, Christian Community Action Contributor and Volunteer, performed at charity events for YMCA Indian Guides and Princesses and Beggin 4 Bears. In addition to that, he is a Founding Donor for the Flower Mound Public Library, a Lewisville Independent School District Educational Volunteer, a Marcus High School Swim and Dive Team Booster Club Volunteer, a Lakeside Aquatic Club Volunteer, and a High School Religion Teacher.
Dan is married to the love of his life, the former Elizabeth Gercans, a proud father to an Eagle Scout, Honor student and competitive swimmer. When time allows, he enjoys reading, politics and golf.
